Rofis R3 Transformer light.

This was Rofis's answer on how to make a trifecta. The R1, R2 and the long awaited R3!

In addition, you can see the R1 & R2 reviews here  ===>

In essence, the light series is essentially the same through it's line up. Sans differences like battery type, size, emitter, and new on the R3 - is a glow ring in between the lens and reflector.  The brilliant charging system remains unchanged as well.

In this package you get the above:

The light
Clip
Lanyard
Head band
18650 3400 mAh battery
Magnetic charging cable
Manual & warranty card
Nice fold out box.

Here's a few snaps of the magnetic charging system.

Furthermore, here's some pertinents, and info from the box.

For sake of comparison, here's the R3 with the R1. The R1 is a cr123 or 16340 battery type light, versus the 18650 of the R3, for reference.

So, as with it's other two brothers, this light can be used as a headlamp, or a right angle light, or a regular flashlight with lanyard and clip.
The R3 is a powerful light, at 1250 lumens max, it can punch through darkness with absolute ease. The headband is more than comfortable, as this is not a small headlamp. The band does a great job at keeping this light planted on your head.

The UI is simple!
Press and hold side button to cycle through modes.
Quick double press for turbo
quick triple press for strobe.
While off, press and hold, light will flash and light is locked out, repeat process to unlock.

Led behind the switch can tell you current battery status

Beamies!

Bird bath is about 20ft away, notice color rendition on the Rose of Sharon.

Maple tree 70ft away, top of tree is 65ft high.

Summary, this is the first full review on this light. I will have a long term up in a month or so.
Final thoughts:

What a light! Rofis is a heavy hitter, and they've proven this time and time again. Every Rofis light I own hits above it's  weight class. This is no different.
