OrcaTorch T20 review: Beauty and brawn.

 I waited.
The truck came.
I stared out the window...waiting.
I made my move, nearly grabbing the box out of the mailman's hand.
I opened it up.
My lord what a light indeed.

So, let's talk about the light!!

The OrcaTorch T20 is not a mainline light for OrcaTorch. They primarily make diving lights. And it appears they make some very nice ones. This light is tactical, all out tactical. And easily the finest light of such a genre that I have. This light is NICE.

So, what would a review be if I didn't compare it to something? :)
Enter the arena

For comparison:
Fenix TK15UE  with a  CREE XP-L HI V3 @ 1000 Lumens
OrcaTorch T20 with a CREE XM-L2(U2) @ 980 Lumens.
Olight M2T Warrior with a CREE XHP35 HD @ 1200 Lumens

1st round. There's a small 6ft tall Dogwood tree sapling, dead center, about 70ft out.

Fenix

OrcaTorch
Olight
Next test.
Tree top. Tree is 80ft away, tree top is 65ft high.

Fenix

OrcaTorch

Olight
It talks the talk, and walks the walk.
It's every bit as throwy like the Fenix. better actually, but provides greater side spill. I added the Olight because of it's XHP/OP reflector type floody light, made a good comparison.

This light reminded me a bit of the CFW custom lights; LEO Light. It was a great balance between throw and flood. The best I've seen. This is close, very close. And that, for me is important. My lights are users. They get used. I take them on back-country patrols, park patrols. A pure flood light is OK. A thrower is OK.  But both? That's tough to find in a perfect balance. This is in the at range of perfect for me.

Fit and finish on this light is impeccable, I simply can't speak enough about it. OrcaTorch it seems, has gotten the spotlight directed on to this light in the last few weeks on social media, and very deservedly so. It's the real deal.

This light has been a real highlight for this blog.
It's a solid light, a solid package. Buy it, try it, you'll love it.
It's the Orcatorch T20!!
