Long term review; Olight Mini S1 Baton

I've had it for 8 months and to see the initial review click here ==> Mini S1 Initial Review
The link to that initial review (aside from my review of the D4) will take you to the most visited review I've ever done, and with good reason. This little light is kind of crazy, actually. 600 lumens out of something smaller than my thumb is astounding.

So, the Mini has been my proverbial little pack light. It's usually attached to my pack straps for quick use when I don't want to use the big light(s) or headlamps I carry. So for my patrols, it's done a perfect job.

For EDC use, I prefer a longer light than this, so I haven't used it much for that.

So, what's my thoughts?

The good:

It's just crazy bright for it's size.
Durable.
Great finish.
Lightweight enough to be attached to my pack straps.
Ability to use CR123's (Think -10f hikes at night)
Modes are butter to use.

The bad:
Almost too small!
Dismal stock battery life.

It's been a GREAT little light.
It's everything Olight said it would be.
But battery life is actually been pretty poor for me. In all fairness I haven't tried different batteries, except CR123's in winter.
I just want it to be longer, the short tube drive me batty.

I've decided to hunt for the next pack strap light, it has to be bright, tiny, and tough. I'm looking at the Tool to replace this, but that may be a bit big.

The beam on this thing is insane though, the TIR optic really utilizes what this light can do, it's a micro powerhouse!

Final thoughts:
Just buy one, you won't likely regret it, it's a solid little blaster for sure.
