To know one is to love one. And so far with Rofis, I have a "collect the whole set" mentality. They are good. Real good at this light building thing.
Meet the MR50. This light hit the scene after it's larger brother, the MR70 came on the scene with it's retina wrecking power, and versatile charging system, and sweet side light.
The 50 is meant to be a smaller, gentler form factor, with less moving parts and internals then the 70.
The biggest difference is - the side light is gone, the XHP70.2 has been replaced with a XHP50.2, and the glow-ring is gone. The 50 took on a sleeker profile with it's 21700 battery.
This beast feels nice, the body is prefect, the fit, finish and feel is all Rofis.
Here is what you get in the box!
The light
A lanyard
Battery
O rings
Nice holster
USB charging cable
Cable to turn light into a power bank.
Manual, warranty card.
Let's take a look at the box for the pertinents.
Nice so far, right?
It's par for the course for Rofis. This is the level you'll get. Not alot of people resell their Rofis lights. There's a reason for that!
Let's take a look at the charging system.
You can simply plug your light in with the very nice braided cord that's supplied, or pop the battery into a charger that it fits in**
And if your phone is low on juice... charge your phone with your light, or in the case of my pictures, I was charging an Anker charger with the light, and then doing the opposite. This is a nice system for back-country use. I know this because I had the MR70 out for 3 nights and 4 days in the woods, oh baby she was heavy, but she worked GREAT out there!
Here's a few snaps of it.
It's a bomber system. Simple, and effective.
Let's take a few more glances at this light.
So, on to beamshots!
Summary.
It's an awesome light. They really lightened and de-bulked this light. It's so much sleeker than the MR70. I love the feel of it!
And the light is great, nice beam.
What I didn't like; No glow-ring. May sound silly, but I actually liked that thing, and; the battery won't fit any of my chargers. Something to consider, is you may need a new charger. Truth be told, I rarely use the lights charging system; I just pop in a 4 bay charger instead.
Go see my great friends at SkyBen for this killer light! @
